Saberdoll's Road Trip to Canada

Saberdoll has a great story of her family road trip to Canada. Here's a small but funny excerpt:

"We left in a hurried rush finally, in our bumbling red Ford Taurus setting out to cross the vast interstate highways and byways; our four cramped, adult human bodies squished inside the moving hull at 55 miles per hour. This was the speed limit, and since Dad was driving the speedometer either went below or just at 55 mph for the entire trip (-more below than at 55…a fact I pointed out several times before he threatened to push his seat back over my toes!). Coolers of food and drinks and various forms of entertainment sprawled out over every spare place in the vehicle. Looking back, I would have preferred the extra space to the stack of cross-word puzzle books and audio tapes. Besides, we had barely been on the road for twenty minutes when we had already resorted to yelling at each other in order to pass the time, who needed audio books?

By the time we reached Richmond, which was only an hour of driving, we had to stop for a bathroom break. There are three adults in the car that live on a constant supply of coffee, I am one of them. I also like to point out that I have a bladder the size of a pea – ironically having a bladder the size of a ‘pea’ means you do the same sounding word frequently. So, all the way to Pennsylvania it consisted of coffee stop- pee stop, and the cycle continued."
